When the 800-pound gorilla in the market (see: Titleist) releases a new version of their premium balls, what are their competitors to do? Srixon has answered the challenge with the release of their newest balls, the Z-Star and Z-Star X. With names like that it is pretty easy to see that ...

I have always loved Srixon Balls. I'm playing the Z-star right now. I like it better than I like the z-star x. The X goes a long way, but I did not have t feel I like around the greens. is softer and spins a lot, but I like it. I may not hit it quite as far as the pro-v1x but it's not really enough to notice for the average players. For me it's not quite 1/2 a club difference in distance. Only time it really matters is when I have to max out a club to carry a bunker. Now I just club down and play a higher shot that lands softer. I'm going to play in a US Open qualifier with this ball. We will see.

My swing thoughts:

- Negative thinking hurts more than negative swinging.
- I let my swing balance me.
- Full extension back and through to the target. - I swing under not around my body. - My club must not twist in my swing. - Keep a soft left knee
