I have a quick question. I played about four times in a row last week. I played really really well the first two rounds, decent the third and fourth. In my last two rounds I noticed that when hitting my driver, I was actually breaking my tee's in half every time. I was putting the ball in the fairway, but my trajectory was extremely high, and distance wise I was still relatively about the same.

I was wondering what could cause the tee's to be breaking like this, I have never seen this before? Is it that I have or am swinging at a steep angle? I do believe that my front shoulder is dipping causing me to be uneven on my down swing, leaning forward to much I guess.

Anyway, thanks so much.

Breaking of tees - Hitting down with the driver.
Tees popping out - Hitting up with the driver.

Your ball flight I'm guessing is a ballooning effect and not much roll?

That is true, not much ball roll. I figured that I was hitting down on it. I am not unhappy, I actually think it is just another shot to add to my bag so to speak, just wanted to make sure my assumption of hitting down on the ball was correct.

    • Three great shots from McIlroy's group (Smith and the US Am Champ) on 12.  The amateur won closest to the pin, although I doubt the group had a bet going.
    • I thought complaining about Fleetwood's appearance was my schtick   For real though, I agree with you, and when I see that, especially in a major, I'm confused.  When I play in a multi-day event at my club, I plan my clothing in advance because I want to look my best.   If no one else, their clothing sponsors should do this for them.  I think Nike used to do this with their stable -- I used to look forward to seeing their posts on the Facebook before majors to see how Tiger and Anthony Kim and friends would be dressed. Meanwhile, Jason Day is dressed fairly blandly today.  Who saw that coming?
    • The hell is Thomas Fleetwood wearing? He looks like a divorced dad from 1998. Even the shoes are hideous
    • I was wondering this and haven't seen it on today's broadcast OR yesterday's, but apparently Cabrera did show up.  He currently has the third highest score for the week and is playing his last hole of this year's event.  I'm not particularly keen to see him, but I was wondering if he was present, and he seems to be.
    • Hatton hit 18 GIR.  That's incredible.   Rory's tee shot on #8 reminds me of a TV show, Get Smart, that I enjoyed watching as a kid.  The protagonist would often say "missed me by that much."  Rory missed avoiding the bunker by that much.
