I have realised that my swing plane is very steep. I've focused on my takeaway and my old habit is to bring it up steep. I was looking for any drills to re program my muscle memory, for a flatter swing plane

When I want a flatter swing, I concentrate on keeping my elbow close to my side until I am halfway into my backswing.

Maybe move the ball a little further from your feet?

It looks like your swing plane is pointed off to the left, which makes you cut across the ball. Do you usually hit fades? Moving the ball further from your feet might let your arms extend more naturally which could straighten out the direction your swing plane points.

The steepness of the swing plane looks fine to me, but I am no expert.

Are you planning to submit to Swing Check ?

As for flatter, try making a few baseball swings where your arms move more across your chest than up over your shoulders, then incrementally move down to a golf posture, keeping that "across the chest" feeling.

Maybe it's the angle of the camera, but it looks like you are slightly over the top on both swings.

I believe you are all right. I have thought about moving the ball out a little. AlsoI do hit the fade, and I may be a little over the top. Does over the top come from throwing the hands a littls on the downswing transition?

    • Three great shots from McIlroy's group (Smith and the US Am Champ) on 12.  The amateur won closest to the pin, although I doubt the group had a bet going.
    • I thought complaining about Fleetwood's appearance was my schtick   For real though, I agree with you, and when I see that, especially in a major, I'm confused.  When I play in a multi-day event at my club, I plan my clothing in advance because I want to look my best.   If no one else, their clothing sponsors should do this for them.  I think Nike used to do this with their stable -- I used to look forward to seeing their posts on the Facebook before majors to see how Tiger and Anthony Kim and friends would be dressed. Meanwhile, Jason Day is dressed fairly blandly today.  Who saw that coming?
    • The hell is Thomas Fleetwood wearing? He looks like a divorced dad from 1998. Even the shoes are hideous
    • I was wondering this and haven't seen it on today's broadcast OR yesterday's, but apparently Cabrera did show up.  He currently has the third highest score for the week and is playing his last hole of this year's event.  I'm not particularly keen to see him, but I was wondering if he was present, and he seems to be.
    • Hatton hit 18 GIR.  That's incredible.   Rory's tee shot on #8 reminds me of a TV show, Get Smart, that I enjoyed watching as a kid.  The protagonist would often say "missed me by that much."  Rory missed avoiding the bunker by that much.
