Why is Dick Cheney still in the news? Why is Face the Nation still talking to him?

I mean:

(1) he lead us into the Iraq war under false pretenses.

(2) he was VP during the economic meltdown

(3) he approved of waterboarding captured enemy combatants

(4) The results of his policies led to the Republican party getting crushed in the 2008 elections.

After that.....why would anyone...especially a Republican care what Dick Cheney's opinion is on anything? Like him or not....the results of his policies would get a failing grade.

He generates plenty of cheap material for Letterman and the Daily Show, maybe that's it...

Until the Obama administration, Congress, e.g., start making some serious noise about investigating the inner workings of the CIA torture programs, Cheney's going to keep running his mouth. He knows that not enough people in Washington are willing to put their own political futures on the line to take on the people who were calling the shots, so he has carte blanche to keep talking until he is made to shut up.
