I know that a good fitting is in order for these. I had my Mizuno's fitted for me, they didn't play right until I got that done. I went into my golfsmith and they gave me some bit about not being able to adjust the x-14's for me (which I think is a bit of a line, but whatever). I just haven't been impressed with them (the clubs or my local Golfsmith for that matter).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the X-14's are cast right? From what I have been told by all the golf store's I've asked is that Cast can't be adjusted once set.

So its right then, that I couldn't have had them adjusted even if I wanted to? It was that news that really started me out on this search for new sticks in the first place.

They can be bent by any clubmaker cast or not. I had all my X-14 irons bent 1* flat after I bought them, by a respectable clubmaker of course.

I would keep your eyes open on ebay. I have the mp60s and got them for 400 new. This was just when they were discontinued but would fit into the minimal offset catagory. Highly recommend and I bet you could get a good deal.

I got my ap1's today and went out and played a few holes. I found I was able to work the ball with them fairly well (hit a great draw around some trees with a 7i). I wasn't struggling with the terrible hooks either. Very happy with these!

    • Maybe not different but more concise and with data to better explain the issue. I think it aids both the instructor and student as it can be interpreted as technical as each person wants.
    • Day 320: worked on putting with the yardstick drill for a while. Checked set up in the mirror as well, and it was pretty solid.
    • Truer words have never been spoken, as I am seeing tonight 😅. I hope my ignorance did not come across as arrogant… Definitely true, however there was also a pro present, albeit not trained in GEARS specifically as would be necessary. I am certainly learning a lot (as I hoped I would). I am not here to challenge the accuracy or significance of any data, as I did find it interesting how it objectively showed my swing. What I am wondering is if an expert teacher trained in GEARS was shown a swing with and without GEARS, would the pro come to a different conclusion using GEARS versus "traditional methods," genuinely curious.
