You can always have new shafts installed with correct grips and save big $$$ since steel shafts and grips cost $100s less then new clubs. Plus you can get the Stiff shafts that you stated you needed.

Thank you for the suggestion, but right now the cost of new clubs is not a factor. Its simply a matter of what would be better for my game.

I recently got new irons as seen below. I went from a GI iron that were nice. I have been exposed. The new irons do not like the way I hit my irons and therefore I have a lesson tomorrow. My index has went up as a result. I did not expect as big as difference, but a mis towards the toe with my new irons is not so good.

I would recommend getting something that helps you improve and enjoy the game. I am not enjoying shooting close to 90 right now. I don't like my irons so much right now.

That's disappointing, and you have my sympathy.

I recently changed my clubs as well. I did a lot of research, looked at the appropriate fitting, and hit the clubs I ultimately settled on. Still it's something of a lottery. I didn't know for sure how I would hit my S58's, with the s300 shafts, and the lie set up for me. As it turns out, I'm reasonably happy (after only two rounds). I'm not longer, and injury is stopping me get the best out of my stiff shafts. Still, the trajectory of the ball is better (I tended to hit too high before), and control and spin is better. I'm currently hitting the irons about the same length as my previous set (but not swinging as hard due to, hopefully, short term injury). I thought I could hit s58's, and I think I've been proved right. I've only hit one shot really off centre, and the stinging feedback through the shaft was a positive disincentive to doing it again. The difference is that for me shooting close to 90 is an improvement (as long as it's close but in the eighties...). Still, your point is a good one. If new clubs don't suit you, your game may get worse.
