Grip and grooves are the main thing. Obviously nicks on the club and any wear on the finish if it's chrome, but for playability make sure the grooves are in good shape and it's got a good grip.

I found a great deal on Ebay the other day. It is a golf shop selling new equipment. I got Cleveland 588 Gunmetal wedges for $214. That is the whole set of 60 lob, 56 sand, and 52 gap. Just awesome wedges man. Can't speak highly enough. Brand new in shrink wrap. Like $115 when they came out a year or two ago. Now about $65/each. A steal man. Why buy used. Go to Ebay and enter Cleveland 588 gunmetal in the search box up top and it should bring up some wedges by "Mapleleafgolf" (or similar). That is the golf shop I got mine from. Had my wedges in about 4 days from the time I bought them. Awesome deal and these are the best wedges I have ever had. So easy to hit.

I bought one used wedge and I never would again.

Grooves are #1 concern and used wedges usually NEVER have good grooves. To me, new wedges are WELL worth the money spent to buy new.

I agree, I have bought a lot of used golf equipment but wedges is not one of them. Wedges seem to be the one club that take a beating, I buy them new.

Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?
