So I'm just getting back into the game, I never was any good, but God is it addicting! I picked up a cheap set of off brand clubs(driver, 3 & 5 wood, 3-sw) at a garage sale awhile back that are all graphite. I have a SW Blade I really like but it's a steel shaft. Will using a steel shafted wedge cause problems if the rest of my clubs are graphite? I know they definitely hit differently. Should I practice with the wedge that came with the set?

and for everyone who always seems to tell me, yes, I know I can get a good set of used clubs for $XXX but I don't have the money. I'll upgrade when I actually start playing more than once every other week. Or when I actually have money

Many people play with graphite in their irons and steel in their wedges. Wedges are not normally swung full out, so for most people it is not an issue. In fact since wedges are often used for partial shots, feel may be improved by a little extra weight and vibration.

i play graphite shafts for driver thru GW which comes with the set, and steel shafts in the specialist wedges (SW and LW). I don't have any issues and find that I prefer the steel shafts in the "specialist" wedges.
