I am looking to buy clubs but they are 1 degree upright. What exactly does that mean and can they be bent back to regular.. They are ap2 if that matters

Considering new Woods what you think ?

Any good club builder can bend clubs. Go get fit to see whether you need a flat, upright, or standard lie.

Hybrid: Rescue Dual 19*
Irons: 4-pw Mp-32 S300
Wedges: Vokey Spin Milled 56* and 60*
Putter: Newport 2 34" 340gBall: Pro-V1 or NXT-tourShoes: Adidas Tour 360 LTD

Irons can be bent, it wont hurt them... I play 3 deg upright. It means that the angle of the shaft to the club head is increased or decreased.

AP2's are forged so yes they can probably be bent back. I tried to get some cast clubs bent back to regular (they were bent upright also by the factory) but none of the shops would do it; they were afraid of breaking them. The castings are apparently more brittle, especially if they've been bent once already.

Do some measurements or get fitted. 1 upright might be good for you.

How exactly would i get measured. Does golf galaxy do this kind of thing. Also how big of a difference is the 1 degree ?

Just play them and you might not need to get them adjusted. The guy who does mine asks me how clubs are and if I say great he doesn't touch them. My pw was 66.5 degrees but I havent bent it back to 65 because i hit it so well.

I bent my irons about two weeks ago and my ball striking improved a lot, to my surprise.

So i just took measurement and i am 5"8 and my wrist to floor is 33" without shoes on. So Should 1 degree upright be good ?

Why not just go get fitted at a place like Golfsmith, Dicks, etc.

With your measurements you would actually be a tad flat. Titleist stock is quite upright so if you hook your irons or ground the heel of the club alot you should get them bent flat...

Why are you surprised?

That's like saying I bought pants that were too big and they fell off me. Or I bought pants that were too small and I couldn't button them. There is no standard that is supposed to fit everyone. Do you think Julius Erving and Corey Pavin have the same specs for clubs?

Honestly, measurements don't have all that much to do with it. Your swing has everything to do with it.

I'm 6'5 and my lie angle is 5 degrees up. Jack Nicklaus wasn't as tall as me, he is also 5 degrees up. Jason Gore is 6'1 and his lie angle is 5+ degrees up. Tiger Woods is 6'1 and his lie angle is 2-3 degrees flat. Ben Hogan was 4 degrees flat. My coach is 5 degrees flat.
