Well i went to the Exelon Invitational hosted by Jim Furyk today. Its held at The Ace Club. An amazing course, really gorgeous. The other 3 Jim had at the tourney were Kenny Perry, Paul Casey, and Anthony Kim. Really good 4some. I didnt follow the guys shot for shot. Kind of just went around and posted up on some different holes with good vantage points. On their 15th hole i believe it was a long par 3. AK got an ace. That was pretty cool cause I was standing right behind him on the tee. Then he proceeded to buy the gallery a beer. Which i then enjoyed even more. haha. all in all, a great Invitational hosted by Furyk.

Sounds like a fun event. I didn't now he hosted anything of the sort. Is it just an exhibition match? How does it work?

it was a better ball of 2some. Ended up matching furyk and Kim against Casey and perry. Furyk and Kim won i think 3&2.

just been reading about it and apparently furyk holed a 40 footer for birdie with a five iron as him, kim and casey all used only one club for the last three holes, furyk a five iron, kim a 3-wood and casey a four iron!

yea i heard they do funny things on the 18th. last year they all tee'd off at once. My buddy and i didnt stick around for the 18th as we wanted to beat traffic.

One of the coolest things I've heard of.....knew I liked AK for a reason...very cool.

it was an expensive round of beers none the less. Also pretty much made me like AK even more as a golfer. That guy has class. But yet he's really down to earth.

    • I think there's a difference between taking time over the ball and taking time to play a shot, at least IMO. One thing I've noticed in a few guys I play with who take a long time over the ball to pull the trigger, is that their backswing is really fast and I think it makes it harder to have a smooth rhythmic down swing. It's almost like they take so long to swing that when they do they speed to catch up. Doesn't lead to good golf IMO.

    • As long as it's from a reputable seller it should be just fine. Just make sure the picture of the weight looks the right shaped weight for that specific driver head. You can even weigh it yourself when you get it if you want to be extra sure. Personally I don't consider $15 for something that can greatly change your impact and delivery characteristics to be "not cheap" but that's just my opinion. Especially since you know it's bringing it closer to what you were fit into and you're already saving a bunch of money by going the used/prior model year route too.
