Anyone in the Portland area (pref. west side, ie beaverton) know of a really good place to get lessons? I know several places to get them, but any recommendations will help me decide where I should go.

I just found on Red Tail's website ( www.golfredtail.com ) a coupon for a free first time lesson. "first time lesson students can receive a free one hour lesson with video analysis, free take-home software and MyRYG Locker set-up and access."

hmm, might be worth checking out as long as there isn't a catch. I cant find one yet anyway.

pumpkin ridge is, and always will be, out of my price range. But when my friend gets his guest passes, I'm gonna hack that course up!

I can't recommend anyone in particular, but a buddy took lessons at Kaplan's and it didn't do much for him.

If you are pretty much at a beginner level I would consider the group lessons that PCC does at The Reserve. It is a championship course, so they should have at least decent instructors. Looks like it is $100 for five group lessons. http://www.pcc.edu/schedule/default....ubtopicCode=GO
A few years ago I was at the driving range at Heron Lakes and the people who were doing the PCC class there said it was very good.

edit: actually it is six lessons
