I'm thinking about picking up a 9.5* FT-i Tour LCG driver and I'm researching two options. The local Dick's has the i-Mix version w/ Aldila DVS 60-S shaft for $150. There is also a "like new" non i-Mix version on Callway Pre-owned with the Matrix Ozik Xcon-6 for $167. I've read good things about both shafts and was wondering if anyone had any helpful info for me.

I currently am using a Nike Sasquatch Sumo 460 with the stock Diamana stiff shaft. I get good distance out of it, but lack a bit of control. I'm looking to find more fairways without sacrificing distance.

I'll sell you the one I have for $125 (+ shipping**) if you want. It's the FT-i LCG 9.5 with Matrix Ozik XCon-6 shaft, Stiff Flex, Neutral Bias. It is not labeled as 'Tour', but as I understand it this model is basically identical to the model that was labeled as such. This is not the i-Mix, though.

I bought this right before they dropped the prices from $199 to $169. I played 2 rounds with it and went to the range 2-3 times back in late April/early May. I hit it OK, but just could not get used to the sound. I was planning on selling it on here at some point, but don't have a digital camera (my friend has had it for about a year now) so I was waiting to be able to take pictures. It looks as new as most new models as it has no scratches or anything on it. I would love to show you a picture but just don't have one available. It also has the headcover.

As luck would have it, my Dad also gave me another FT-i, this one a not the LCG model. It is a 10* Neutral with Aldila NVS 65-S 360 Shaft. It's in almost the same shape as the other. This one was used at a demo day at my Dad's club for one day. It has a couple very small scratches on the sole (not even noticable unless you are looking). I also have headcover for it. I would let it go for $115 (+ shipping). I actually liked the ballflight with this driver a little better. It was a little higher and shaft felt a little softer.

**I'm not sure about the cost of shipping since I've never checked. I do have a box to ship in, but I think the cost is somewhere close to $20.

I say go for it callaway is a way better golf brand than nike so i say do it just get a bucket of balls at your local driving range and figure out your callaway driver then go out there and lower your score

The LCG drivers are "Tour LCG" and are marked as such by their bias designation. The regular Fti drivers that are "Tour" only come in .5* lofts and NON "Tour" in whole * lofts.

Thanks for the input. For $150 I think I'm just going to pick one up and play with it. I'm not trading in my Sumo so I'll have that to fall back on if for some reason I don't like the FT-i Tour LCG.

The "Tour" is marked on the heel next to the bias marking. You can see it in this picture left of the bias. There is a little logo and it says "Tour Low CG" under it. The Tour models also have the Chevron logo on the club's face.

Wow, some further research makes this a no-brainer. That club better be there when I get to Dick's in the morning...

Checking CallawayGolfPreowned.com the trade-in value for the FT-i Tour LCG i-Mix head is $55 and the i-Mix Aldila DVS 60-S is $45. So, I can buy it brand new at Dick's for $150 and if for some reason I hate it, I could trade it in and I'm only out $50 for my troubles.

It's in my trunk

I'm going to take it out at lunch today and play 9 with it. I've been thinking about trying one for a while, but the investment part of it pushed me over the edge. Heck, if I don't like the FT-i head I could trade it in and put that $55 toward the purchase of a "like new" FT-5 i-Mix head from callaway preowned. They are going for $90-100 so I could pick one up for $35-45 after trade-in.

I just couldn't pass it up

Trying to hit the best RTJ Trail stops without spending half the trip in the car.   Plan: Thu: Grand National (Lake or Links) Fri: GN AM, then drive to Capitol Hill, play Senator Sat: Capitol Hill – Judge Sun: Ross Bridge Mon: Oxmoor Ridge early, drive to ATL   Thinking about squeezing in Cambrian Ridge after Capitol Hill—worth it or too much? Would love any feedback or tips from those who’ve done it.
    • Day 73 (13 Jul 25) (note: forgot to post the "day" for the past few days, up to day 73) - Easy day in the backyard, with time on the 50deg wedge and the mat (simulating tight lies around the green) working on low spinners.  Love using this mat as it is small and portable but also lends to being a type of alignment rod to get a proper setup.  Finished up with a few swings with the 54.
    • Congrats on the new leg of your journey - the challenge of learning something new while dealing with Parkinson’s is totally awesome.
    • Played several holes today with my Buddy's left haded clubs.  I was going to order just woods, but after playing again today and hitting the irons well, I will be ordering a complet set of Left handed Clubs.    They are Callaway Edge, Regular flex.  I am excited !  Will let you know after I try them and let you know how well they performed.    Retired Old Man, Terry
    • Depends in part on what lie the greens crew left me. If it's first cut of rough or fairway and clear shot to cup, it's an 8i chip and run. If it's shaggy, or I have to go over ridge or bunker, it's a cut shot with a 58* LW.
