When I started golfing last winter I took a course at the local community course for an intro to golf.

Today I finally took another lesson with the local PGA pro at the course. Been trying to correct my wicked slice for the past couple months not getting very far.

The pro had me first hit a couple balls using my fav club (lob wedge) then I went to the driver. He noticed I had a good swing path and was on a good plane.

He had me transfer my weight more to my back foot on the back swing to make sure I fully transferred my weight. Also had me tilt my head up slightly. Also had my drive my hands downward instead of lifting which was causing me to hit some balls thin.

These small changes totally fixed my swing. I was hitting the ball further. Started to even get a draw out of some balls.

It feels great

I really liked the coach. He was really impressed with the distance I was getting. He gave me his home number and said if I ever had any questions to just give me a call and he can help me over the phone. Also said to give him a call in a couple weeks and let him know how everythings working out.

    • Wow, largest ever 36-hole lead at the Masters. Seems good. I don't really have much to add, but I'm having a great time nursing a cold by watching this tournament.  I doubt Rory fumbles this one, but you never know. As a fan, I hope he can close this out with two rounds to go.  I saw a funny comment somewhere where someone said Bryson should try to 3D print himself a green jacket.
    • Day 234 4-10 Blending hip/chest rotation backswing work and wrist arch in downswing. Pause at the top and slower swing. Recorded and hit foam balls.
    • Day 2, April 10 2026.  After watching today's excellent Masters broadcast, I have hit 18 balls, one at a time, each after doing the pelvis limiting drill.
    • Day 33 (10 Apr 26) - Played in the club Friday shootout with a slight twist as the course was setup for tomorrow’s local “Masters” one day tournament.  The pins were in some slippery places and the greens firm and bouncy.  Overall made for staying the process all the more important especially on the greens.
    • Rory up by six - makes me wonder if the powers that be will adjust Augusta’s moving day setup to be uber tough or uber getable to get a few closer.
