I've been looking at a lot of putters, and I think I've got it narrowed down to one of these. I can't decide. I feel like I set up better with the Newport 2, but the mid-slant looks cool. They both roll the ball great. The Newport 2 has a full-shaft offset, but the mid-slant has 3/4". I'm totally confused. If you play one of these, tell me whether you prefer the Newport 2 or the mid-slant neck and why.

I use the mid-slant. The offsets between the two are essentially the same. Perhaps the mid-slant has a centimeter or two less, but you wont notice it. They both hang the same amount, as well. I use the mid-slant because its has a cleaner look down to the ball, imo. When i was demoing the two, i didnt putt better with one style of neck than i did the other. Its a personal preference.

It's less than 1/4" the diameter of the putter shaft, which is probably less than 1/4 centimeter. I like the idea of the mid-slant: fewer angles, cleaner look. But it is tougher for me to set up to, for some reason. I think it's the clash of sharp angles on the putter head and curves on the neck. I think I just hit the full offset a little bit purer.

Go with what feels more better to you. I dont think youre loosing out in choosing one style over the other. They're both basically identical putters.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
