The OP's prices were fair at best. I could never bring myself to pay $100+ for a wedge when you can get a sightly used one for half the price. I didn't pay more than $50 for any of my wedges. He paid an average of $112 apiece for all 4. The iron prices were good and the putter...well, that's what you pay for a Scotty. As for the 36 handicap that spent $300 on his bag: Sure, you have no reason to drop $2k on a bag, but better golfers get benefit out of better clubs. I can make the same argument against your set. Let's say you spent $40 on your driver out of that $300. If I go to Wal-Mart and grab a $20 driver, I could ask you if your driver is really twice as good as the one I got at wal-mart. Would my driving abilities double if I used yours instead of the $20 driver. Obviously not. But it's worth it to some folks to spend money to improve their game. Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox. But most 30-handicaps would be better off dropping $50 on the bag and as much as they can on lessons and range balls.

What's in my Sun Mountain C-130 bag:

Driver - Taylormade Superfast 2.0 TP 10.5
3 Wood - Taylormade Burner 15* REAX
Hybrid - Adams Idea Pro 18* GD YSQ-HL

Irons - Callaway X-18 4-PW

GW - Cleveland 588 51*

SW - Cleveland CG 12 56*

LW - Cleveland CG15 60*

Putter - Cameron Studio Style Newport 2

Bushnell Medalist rangefinder

i agree, spend some money on a lesson, invest in better clubs once your game improves

Original cost on my set is $1,300 excluding the driver which was given to me used. Less GG gift certificates I received over the past 18 months, cost to me was about $1,000.

I buy second hand most of the time like
Driver £150
Fairway £100
Hybrid £100
Irons £150
Wedges £105
Putter £25

Driver, Fairway, One wedge which was £80 (only RRP club in bag), were given to me as presents

so i have spent £ 300 pounds on clubs which means i have a really cheap bag of good clubs so buy used is my advice

i only have 3 clubs that were bought new
