Long story short. I bought a new Cobra S9-1 Speed Driver. Reg. Flex. shaft and have played 4 rounds and have hit one long and straight drive. Everything else has been a slice. I was playing a Nike 350cc driver with an Aldila reg. stiff flex shaft after the regular stock shaft snapped.

I went with a regular flex shaft on the new driver because I felt like my swing speed has increased. However, that doesn't seem to be the case. I have tried a million adjustments to no avail. With that being said here are my thoughts on resolution:

1. Swap shafts from the old Nike driver to the Cobra.
2. Don't want to BUT: Take a lesson ( I don't think thats necessary)
3. Try and slow down my swing speed and get the clubface at impact.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sorry if I've miss-understood you but its pretty late and I'm stuggling with insomnia. You said you went from a reg/stiff to a reg because you thought your swing speed has increased? You realise that's the wrong way around right, the faster the clubhead speed the stiffer the shaft is supposed to be.
On that basis I'd suggest that the reason you're slicing is because the driver shaft has too much flex. Now, as for your options I'd switch the shafts around like you mentioned, my pro put the stiff shaft from my old MP-001 on my R7 for a fiver (I was having a similar problem) I havn't looked back.

Yeah, this is exactly what I was thinking. Sounds like you NEED a stiff shaft - especially if your swing speed has INCREASED.

    • Wow, largest ever 36-hole lead at the Masters. Seems good. I don't really have much to add, but I'm having a great time nursing a cold by watching this tournament.  I doubt Rory fumbles this one, but you never know. As a fan, I hope he can close this out with two rounds to go.  I saw a funny comment somewhere where someone said Bryson should try to 3D print himself a green jacket.
    • Day 234 4-10 Blending hip/chest rotation backswing work and wrist arch in downswing. Pause at the top and slower swing. Recorded and hit foam balls.
    • Day 2, April 10 2026.  After watching today's excellent Masters broadcast, I have hit 18 balls, one at a time, each after doing the pelvis limiting drill.
    • Day 33 (10 Apr 26) - Played in the club Friday shootout with a slight twist as the course was setup for tomorrow’s local “Masters” one day tournament.  The pins were in some slippery places and the greens firm and bouncy.  Overall made for staying the process all the more important especially on the greens.
    • Rory up by six - makes me wonder if the powers that be will adjust Augusta’s moving day setup to be uber tough or uber getable to get a few closer.
