Check out my new home made practice net I just got thru building tonight.

After replacing my old, broke practice net with one of these from IZZO Golf:

I found out it was to hard to move it around to different areas of the grass for iron practice. So I figured I would just leave it and the driving mat in place and I would build me a lightweight one I could move around and brake down easily. I just finished it tonight and I have to say it receives iron shot very well; the net absorbed the balls better than my new "store-bought" one.

All I used was some old netting, 1/2" SHC40, 1/2" straps, and some zip ties. I am very pleased. Now I can drag it around and practice my iron shots from anywhere in the yard without fear of leaving areas of divot marks in one location (and I can leave it on my back porch and even practice swinging in bad weather).

Its very simple to make; just cut your pieces and glue it together with 4-90* fittings. Since I already had the netting, I probably only have $35 at the most in the counduit, fittings and straps. I was just surprised as to how stable it was when you hit into it considering how flexable it is. I guess the loose netting absorbs all the impact which results in no force being applied to the frame.

LOL...I only used 1/2" PVC. I wanted it to be flexable enough so I could bend that 17' loop all the way around in order to match the contours of my netting.
