the big 30 is around the corner for me (a few months away) and my wife and I had planned to go to Mexico for a week to celebrate. However, we are going to Jamica for her sisters wedding a few weeks later instead. I was thinking of asking (begging) for the two of us to go to a golf fantasy camp / golf school for 2 or 3 days. She is not a golfer AT ALL, but if the place was warm and had a poolside bar, she could be convinced.

Hilton in myrtle beach has a class for $1400 for two people (one non golfer)

Also, we have family in Orlando, so doing a 2 day trip in orlando would be convienent because we wouldn't have to stay in a hotel.

My questions are has anybody done anything like this? Has it significantly improved your game? Would you do it again? Which one did you do? WOuld you try a different one?

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

It may just be that I'm 14, and I don't have a constant income, but WOW that's alot of money to me.

I went to golf camp recently. (Where I won my first tournament) It was really fun. I made alot of friends as well, and learned a good bit about golf. Some of the teachers however lacked the ability to teach. They just showed us their swing and expected it to be copied. But the camp gave me alot of practice time, and I worked on the release of the club, and now I feel alot more confident in my swing. And yes, I would try and different one.

well it certaintly isn't cheap. but when you compare the cost of a nice all inclusive resort, a cruise, or any other fantasy camp, it puts the money into a much better perspective.

Last year when I was 15, I went to a Nike golf camp at UCSD.
Although the instruction wasn't that helpful, I improved my game a lot over the 6 days. My confidence improved a lot and I also learned to the enjoy the game more.

Have fun if you go!
