I've been waiting on some news regarding the next installment of Tiger Woods' videogame. Well, I was happy to see the first official preview today at Gamespot. I bought an XBox 360 a couple months ago, and Tiger Woods 07 is high on my wishlist of games. Last year's effort on the XBox 360 was pretty shallow, but it looks like they are getting things right this year.

Check out the Gamespot article.

Does anyone else have an XBox 360 by the way?

sounds and looks very cool. Those screenshots are amazing. I don't have a 360, but wow.

I'm currently addicted to Tiger 2006 on the PSP.

No I dont own one yet unfortunately. I think I'm going to wait until the winter when they're releasing the new edition with all the bugs/errors fixed. Plus hopefully the price might drop a bit.

I'll be buying a Wii and maybe,

maybe a PS3. But certainly not if it's $600.

I thought hard about waiting for the Wii, but it just didn't look as fun to me. That being said, Tiger Woods' games would be very fun with the Wii controller. That would be a reason to get the system in itself.

There is no way I'm going $600 for the PS3. I wish everyone would boycott Sony for that dumb decision. I don't watch movies on my PS2 anyway, and I wouldn't on the PS3.

I've had my XBox 360 for two months, and I've been happy so far. I don't play games an excessive amount though, so I may not have as many problems with overheating as some people have. My system has run fine so far (knock on wood).

Those graphics are awesome but on the screen shot when hes in the longer grass look at his eye it looks like its twitching. I still have the regular Xbox and I play 2006 its a fun game.

I have a 360... I have been playing the TW games since 2004... the 2006 version for the 360 is disappointing to me compared to 2005. I think it's moving in the right direction tho so I'm looking forward to 2007.

Hey, i have an XBOX 360 and the only game i go on is tiger woods 06, Ive completed the 03, 04 and 05 versions on the origional xbox and think the gameplay using the analogue sticks are great instead of the 3-tap circular bar of the older golf games. Im really looking forward to tiger woods 2007

I agree with ya bubba on the analog controls plus the tougher putting (needed that) but there's lots of graphic slow down and only SIX courses! I know they are adding an additional 6 for 07 but it would be nice if they threw us a bone and have some downloadable courses for 06...

I started way back with the TW 99 version for a laptop. My wife got me a PS2right after they came out and the guys from work bought me the TW2005 for Christmas that year. I really like the joystick in place of the meter and space bar arrangement. I also had the 2004 PS2 version and they keep improving it every year.

I agree that the putting was way too easy. I was making birdies from 50ft.. Not something I am used to with my real game, trust me.

Well, unfortunately for gamers, EA Sports and other companies like to make their money any way possible. They will just keep adding stuff to each year's games, so we will keep buying. It's a smart philosophy, but it's cruel. :)

By the way, here is a little gameplay footage of Tiger Woods 07 for the 360. It shows Tiger playing a couple holes.

The people over at IGN do Tiger Tuesday until the release of the game. They focused on the UCAP technology this week. Check this picture out. Unbelievable!

What's with the gallery?

I'm not sure, I was just looking at how great Tiger's character looked. They do have more in the gallery this year though.

Wow, those graphics look amazing.

Another huge + is that they are doubling the amount of courses. Wow.

I guess the current-gen versions (XBox, PS2, PC) hit stores today, but the XBox 360 version is being held off until next week. I really wanted to play it before flying to North Carolina, but I guess I can wait until next week.

I'm very excited to play this year's. I will definitely do a write-up on the game in the next few weeks, possibly even on the main page as well.

Is anyone else getting it today, or are you holding out for the XBox 360 version?

    • For someone with a very consistent swing speed and ball strike, upgrades may improve performance. For everyday golfers, probably not. I'm a rather odd player. I usually get best performance from basic pro or tour heads, but with lighter stock shaft from the model's standard driver set up. (Yes, current EXS is an exception.) When I get a full driver fitting, I usually try a couple of modest upgrade  (not super magic) shafts. Most of the time upgrade gives a couple of extra yards, or 10 yards less. Remember this about stock shafts: They are matched to a particular driver model to fit the type of player likely to adopt that model. Also, most OEMs offer a variety of stock shafts in their drivers. Test for which one works best. And, the final decider...
    • Uh, seeing you're having trouble with hit-and-miss performance from inherited clubs... Get Fitted! IF the 910H pair don't work, swap them out. Also, only two degrees separation in loft is not much. You might consider a 4W (much more reliable than a 3W) plus hybrid. This would give more distance separation than two Hs. For hybrid, get one you can hit... Maybe a more benevolent 4H. Quite often I try to brand match my bridge clubs (FWs and Hs), and my irons and wedges... but not always. Whatever works!
    • Like others have said, get fitted. Since 2011, I have played some combination of 4W + 7W. I had a Cobra 3H and 4H a couple of years back, and would swap out the 7W for a 3H in cold months (keep out of cold wind, and rough thinner for wayward drives.) The 7W matched up with yardage often with 3H; the current 4H goes almost as long as 7W, but has a lower trajectory. 4H also bumped out 4i in last bag redo; I learned to hit stinger with 4H so that's my driving iron on tight holes with shallow landing area. Again, a side-by-side test will tell you which way to go. If 5W or 3H is meh, keep the 7W. Also, are you looking to replace the 7W with a 5W or 3H, or add a second bridge club (5W or 3H) to your bag?
    • Makes sense and aligns with other literature. Static stretching, especially for longer durations, can impede performance in strength and power activities. I would not want to do like hamstring, quad, and calf stretches then go immediately sprint. To me that sounds like a terrible Idea. I would rather start off walking, then jogging, then running, then ramp up to sprinting.  To me, static stretching isn't even a warmup activity. I like the term warmup; you want to get some exertion going before the activity.      a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; }
    • Going to Florida for the usual February golf trip, and with our current weather, that date won't get here soon enough. Heading to Augusta GA for the Tuesday Master's practice round, will definitely get some golf in while I'm in the area for a few days. Hope to be able to catch up with @coachjimsc if he's around. Then it's back to Scotland first of July.  Playing 7 new courses, can't wait for that.  Then somewhere after that is the Rhode Island CC Member-Guest and then my normal October golf trip to Myrtle Beach.
