I need to get fitted for a driver and 3w shaft. Where is the best to get this done in Memphis? Also, I am looking for a place that has different shaft combos that I can use. I don't really want to get on a launch monitor and hit my clubs and just have them guess at what I need....if that's the only way then I guess that is what I will do. Thanks

The club maker across from Methodist is Greg Pickett. He's a very nice guy and does great work. He doesn't have a huge selection of shafts but what he does have is very high quality. He put a Graphite Design Pershing shaft in my Titleist 907 D1 and it's worked very well for me. Another good option is Double Eagle Golf on Germantown Parkway at Trinity in the Trinity Commons shopping center. Their staff is very nice and there's a club building/repair shop in the store.

Double Eagle is the place I was thinking about. Do they have the different options to try or just a launch monitor and then they give you a list of shafts that will work?

I've never had Double Eagle do a shaft fitting, only club fitting. They do use a launch monitor. I've always gone to Greg Pickett for shaft fitting. He's not a fan of launch monitors. I've had very good results with Greg but as always "your mileage may vary".

If he doesn't believe in launch monitors, what does he use?

He listens as you tell him what your shot tendencies are and there is a hitting net in the shop. He's pretty good at coming up with the right fit and if it doesn't work for you he'll tell you to bring it back. His belief is that a launch monitor is no substitute for the reality of the course.
