How accurate are launch monitors? Do they measure total distance (factor in roll)?

Assuming this was indoors? Launch monitors have a hard time when the golfer is hitting into a net, because they only have a fraction of a second to "see" the ball flight. Both of the really sophisticated Doppler radar monitors -- Trackman and Flightscope -- specify that you need a little metal sticker on the ball under these conditions if you want accurate numbers, particularly spin numbers. They're commercializations of the military systems used for artillery targeting. Pretty amazing, when you think about it.

Anyway, the monitors at the show were probably crappy and the setup was probably bad. So, yeah, I wouldn't put much stock in those results.
