Ok so on my Burner driver, there are a few very small faint chips right on the edge where the crown meets the face. They can't even be seen until you look very closely, and they don't bother me at address, but I want to touch them up so they don't increase in size. What should I buy that I could use to fill in the chips and touch them up so they blend nicely with the rest of the club? If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it. I've heard you can get some kind of stuff from wal mart or an auto store that works good. What exactly would I have to do with this to touch it up nice? Thanks.

Anyone? I know some of you have had to repair chips. Also, can anyone tell me which of the clubs on the following list have a crown color closest to the Taylormade 07 Burner? http://www.myostrichgolf.com/clubmak...roducts_id=626

Ok, I fixed it. The first time I did just one coat of black spray paint, and it made it worse so I rubbed it off before it dried completely. This time I got it right. I did two coats of black spray paint, then a coat of clear coat, and then blended it smooth with 2000 grit sandpaper, just on the small part where the chips were, not the whole club. It all blends nicely and you have to almost look with a magnifying glass to see it now.

Man, chips are stubborn as all hell! There were four tiny chips, two are gone, but the paint came off the other 2. they are really tiny, though. Can anyone please tell me how I can just fill them in and not have to worry bout the paint coming off? I don't care if the chip is still there I just want it filled in black. Please, someone.

I remeber someone saying something about black nailpolish or nailpolish in your driver's color? or using model paint (like hobbies paint) works well too

Ok I'l have to find some black nailpolish. Hopefully it works. Problem with the spraypaint it just refuses to stick to the metal, and I'm not gonna prime it. Will nailpolish need primer?

I am not sure, you should probably ask a woman for that kind of information as I am not ready to remove myself from a confined space for clothing storage on an internet golf forum quite yet

I'm wondering if I should try to return it to dick's for a new one. I had the same driver in a 10.5 for a year and it didn't chip a single time. I've had this for a week, only used it twice, and I already have 4 chips. Anyone agree?

Well, I got lucky today. My dad was going to home depot for a part, and I decided to go with him. While we were there, I wandered over to the paint isle to see what I could find. To my surprise, right on the endcap of the aisle, there was a rack with a bunch of different colors of craft/hobby paint. I looked closer, and I found one in "GLOSS BLACK". It was only 2 bucks so I got it, took it home, and it worked quite well on my driver. I also used it for a few chips on my 3 and 5 woods as well. Works great, stays on, and makes the chips unnoticeable until you look at it really close and the light reflects just the right way. It is almost a perfect match color-wise, maybe a hair duller. If I wax it, will it smooth it out a bit? Anyone know?

You already put the paint on it, now your thinking about waxing it? Wow, lol...

I think your over-exgerrating a bit on your clubs. It's just a chip on a golf club dude - they are going to wear, it won't hurt the performance of the club. I understand it's annoying to look at though. When my Scotty Cameron got a slight scratch on the bottom of the club I got pretty upset, but then realized it's a golf club and it's going to have it's wear and tear...

Yeah, I agree 100% I just wanted to know if I should wax it because I've heard paople say it before. I did a really good patch job. I know clubs wear, and I know it doesn't matter if their is all paint or no paint, the club will still perform. I just like to fix things a bit when it is possible, that's all.

    • I’d go with the Titleist if you liked the look of the blades but were suffering with distance. They should be a little more forgiving than a full blade and still retain some workability. Also remember to consider the shafts each have as this will be a big contributor to how they feel. Clemsonfan is right though… get fit or spend a bit of time on a launch monitor 🤙

    • Day 30, 1/30.  Six minutes this morning hitting a few more range balls, indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Did this before leaving the house.

    • Hi All my New Year’s resolution was to start playing golf again. I’ve caught the bug and am really enjoying hitting balls at a couple of my local ranges.looking forward to getting back out on courses in the spring. Based in the UK and 38 years old, I’ve been playing since I was a kid. Best handicap I’ve held is 2 in my mid 20s. Over the past 10 years I’ve played once or twice a year, sometimes with friends or for work. Could shoot 4-5 over, but just as easily shoot 15-20 over. I’ve moved to South Wales and am very lucky to be near some world class links courses, which gives me even more motivation to get playing again! I will start looking for a local coach in my area when I have more time to invest, but I recalled scouring this forum a few years ago and finding some good tips and advice so wanted to give it a try to see if there were any glaring issues I could fix in the meantime!  A few swings below… one from 1st week Jan and one from today. I have fixed my P1 takeaway to my liking and am now working on what I see as pretty severe early extension & hip thrust. Also terrible hip rotation. I’d like confirmation that this is indeed a problem and and suggestions on a few good drills. Thanks for reading 🙂 I've been Playing Golf for: 30+ years My current handicap index or average score is: 10ish over My typical ball flight is: mid The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: push right with irons, hooks and push with driver!  Videos:
