I'm using it on a Bold. I am just using it for distances. I am not using the stats feature.
The only problem I have had was obtaining the membership code. Called Golf logix, stayed on hold for 20 min., got the code. Works well enough that one of my golf buddies offered to pay for half.

I would recommend removing the free trial before making the purchase. The guy at Golflogix had to get rid of my trial version, before he could get my annual one running.

Just used it this weekend and thought it was a good buy. Not as quick as a stand alone but then don't have the intial out of pocket expense. Only one issue missed scoring a hole and can not figure out how to go back and correct? EMailed tech support today will see how responsive they are since they are closed today(Sunday).

I have downloaded 3 apps for my Blackberry curve 8900:

GreenFinder : I think is great....sitting at home about 2 miles from the course it gave me readings of 12500 ft. Not bad. You get first 5 tries for free, and then a $35 / yr subscription. It's not bad considering that some of the lower priced GPS units outhere cost about the same.

AccelGolf: It states to be free...You may have to make a donation or something, but it's pretty good. It uses satelite imigery to find distances. It is alittle slower tha GreenFinder in that you have to select the points of interes on the image, as opposed to getting a reading, but the imagary is pretty good. It also offers score tracking for 4 players that can be selected from your contact list, and keeps stats for the game.

nRange: I have not been able to use this....I downloaded the free trial, but it stated that the the trial had expired. I contacted them via e-mail, and they have reset my account, but I haven't tried again since. It seems pretty good, but the entry process, while it will provide very usefull stats, seemed to me that it may slow play...my $0.02.

All in all, I think that the GreenFinder app will be where I put my $$$$. I'm going to play hopefuly this weekend, so I will update then.

Cheers!
It's the indian, not the arrow! But it sure is nice to have good arrows!!!!!

I don't know how the interface on the BB works, but, on the iPhone this is what I have experienced:

Once you have started a round go to: statistics | current round | edit my current round you can edit from there. Once you click on "sync score-stats" under statistics, you cannot go back and edit a previous round. So you should not sync until you have finished editing your current round. Regarding tech support, when I have emailed them I get this system generated response: ----------------------------- Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for your inquiry. We would like to gather more detail on your current situation to better assist you. Please call our customer service department directly at 1-877-977-0162 option 1. We are open Monday - Sunday from 7:00am to 5:00pm PST. - GolfLogix Customer Support -----------------------------

I have been researching getting a BlackBerry device for gps purposes as in this thread...however, I found the calling voice quality on the devices to be relatively poor, especially on the Tour and to some extent on the Storm. I tested by making calls from the phone(s) in the Verizon store to my home answering machine, then listening to voice quality later. The BlackBerry devices were quite poor compared to other non-BlackBerry phones. This is the main thing that is keeping me from going this route. What is your (group) experience with your BlackBerry as a phone per se? Thanks.

I played my 1st round with the golflogix on my BB Storm this weekend, and it worked great, once you get used to everything. I was leaving it in the cart most of the time, but on one par 3, the green was too far away from the cart for it to autorecognize that I was putting, so it kept giving me yardage to the green (30 yards). I didn't want to slow up play, so I advanced to the next hole, but just stuck my BB in my back pocket when I went up to putt, and it was great after that. Every course I play was already in it, and the yardages were very accurate after about 10 seconds sitting still.

    • Did you play the 2 holes with their temporary greens.  If so, I don't see why your score shouldn't count as it would normally.  I get the point that the hole does change but if everybody is playing the same conditions then I think it is fair
    • Just a suggestion.. do a left hand-only 'trial'. You can do in your living room. Ensure arm structure stays intact throughout the swing and the wrist does not break down until well after impact. It will possibly help you identify if it's a right side (trail) over/early-dominance, weight-shift timing, pivot stall, hand path issue, some combo of these, etc.
    • Yup, 3 triples, 8 bogeys and 7 pars I think.  So maybe 17 over.  But yeah, happy with the score, game and trophy
    • Why can't we easily fix the problems in our swing that we know about?
    • From what I heard over the weekend, Shedeur pulled a "Bo Callahan" with the Giants. Per Todd McShay: “Shedeur didn’t have a great interview with Brian Daboll in a private visit. An install package came in, preparation wasn’t there for it, he got called out on it, he didn’t like that. Brian didn’t appreciate him not liking it." You can have all the talent in the world (which I am not sure he has, as CU tailored the offense to his strength in a weak division ), but you have to act like a top round draft pick and not like an unproven legend! If you get drafter at 3 as a QB in the draft you are expected to lead that team, and preparation is part of that.  Playing ball in NY (any sport) requires you to deal with criticism, and deal with it as a professional.
