I just received my golf club I ordered on ebay from rockbottomgolf. It was an Adams Insight BUL 3 wood. The head on this club is TINY. Its like the size of an old school 5/7 wood. Is this right?

I always thought that a 3 wood had a little bigger of a head?

I don't think so, though I've only had a couple and they're about that size. BTW, good choice on the BUL, I use one and I like it; its my 200-220 club.

I received mine from RBG, and that's what I said as well. Of course, the only other 3W I've used is an old generic one that I'd guess was around 300cc.

It's a great club. Mine's the strong headed one though, 12.5. I hit it a good 240+roll when solidly struck.

Great choice there. I love the overall form and shape of the head of the Insight BUL woods, which tends to set up nicely. I was actually thinking quite the opposite in terms of head size (cc). I purchased them because I thought the head was 'small' relative to what is currently on the market.

Next time your at your local golf shop, stroll on over and take a look at the fairway woods from Callaway and Taylormade. Wowsers...they're gargantuan.

Thats what I was expecting, a big club head. Oh well, I really really like the look and feel of it. Setup seems to have a *slightly* open face, but maybe its how im gripping the club.... The grip is askew, so I cant use that to set up with, which kinda sucks.

Strong headed meaning... lower loft?? This one is a 15* I believe....

Looking forward to hitting it at the range tomorrow.

Its a 4-wood, but the head of my SQ Dymo is tiny also. An old Ping Eye2 7-wood I have in the garage has a bigger head, at least twice the size, and its a persimmon head.

Fairway woods have gotten somewhat shallower, but total size hasn't increased much, especially for 5 and 7 woods. Because you may have to hit them out of less than perfect lies making them to big hurts versatility.

    • I've been putting whilst looking at the hole and it's definitely helped my distance control
    • I wonder if that is why my home course basically have no stakes now.  Not even markers.  It’s completely up to golfers to remember what is OB and hazard and how things used to be marked.     Even in tournaments, there is no marking and certain areas are played differently by different golfers who either don’t know better or use it to their advantage funny reading thru this with courses that actually have markers
    • is it though?????? "Millions of fans"?????
    • Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.
    • So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
