i hit 93% of the fairways today, missing only one, and it wasn't a huge miss - i was maybe two yards into the rough on the left. and then of course i couldn't sink a putt to save my life to counteract the accuracy off the tee. i felt like ben hogan out there - hitting every fairway and missing every putt.

That is quite a feat, hitting all those fairways and not really having a tee shot that was too bad. A bulkie putter is just part of the game, happens to everyone some days. Congrats. All I used to hear was "fairways and greens" as if that was the whole game... That needs amending to "fairways and greens, and a good day putting." Now that would be the answer to golf.

I think you heard wrong. Hit a bad drive and I doubt you will be putting for much dough.

Congrats on your great driving day. I've been driving the ball much better with good distance but the most I have hit is 10 out of 14, which I am perfectly happy with. Wish I could get that kind of percentage for my GIR's. That would be some feat!

    • Day 1 (19 Jan 26) - after a week lay-off due to travels, felt great to get in some drills in the backyard today.  Started with lead arm only short pitches focused on squared face and light divot post ball.  Haven’t done this in a while and it showed, with some skulls and slices.  Settled into easy flighted balls - wrapped up with standard two handed swings.  Good restart to the daily drills.
    • That depends what you do within those two.  Are they your only options?   Check out Fit for Golf if you get a moment.  It's linked on the sidebar;  I did it for two years, stopped for a really bad reason, and I plan to get back to it soon.   Mike Carroll also has a great free podcast about a lot of topics in golf fitness.
    • Day 19, 1/19.  Finished work in time to spend 25 minutes hitting balls (hit 15) indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Usual focus.
    • Day 30 - 2026-01-19 Got 10 minutes in on the mat / net working on exagerrating movements I'm working on. And grip. Also worked with my friendly AI to summarize key negative tendencies I have so that I can build a personal checklist to follow. Will do more mirror work tonight.
