Please don't be one of the guys that wears his golf shoes to watch the tournament. If you feel you must wear them then go ahead and put a glove in your back pocket. One is about as useful as the other when watching a tournament.

I never understood this attitude. I've been to several Master's practice rounds and even my wife, who doesn't play golf, went out and got a pair of cleats. It's a pain getting up and down some of the hills. A lot of these courses don't have cart paths and not every one on this board is a 16 year old on a high school golf team.

i feel like wearing golf shoes is like being "that guy" that wears the band's t-shirt to a concert ....

as they said wear tennis shoes, dont be that guy

Whats the verdict with parking? Is it easier to park and take the busses or pay for parking at the site?

Having gone to the Wednesday and Thursday rounds, I can say that I think the buses are definitely the way to go, although I don't know if that will be the case on Sunday. You probably won't have to wait to get on buses to the course, especially if you go early, but you may be waiting awhile to leave. We waited for a bus for about 15 minutes leaving the course on Thursday, and that was before play was over. With everybody leaving at the same time Sunday, it could be a pretty long wait. Still, I would take the bus, but that's because I'm cheap .

No Cell Phones or Cameras. I went to the US Open at Bethpage this year and brought my Blackberry up to the gate. They check through your belongings and you have to walk through metal detectors. They will make you walk back to your car to return it.
In my bag:
Driver: Burner
Irons: R7's
Hybrid: Burner
Wedge: CG14 Putter: white hot

    • So far only -5 but... I've Birdied 2 of the 4 holes I wasn't able to last year.  Hopefully will Birdie all 18 this year, maybe an Eagle or 2!
    • Titleist TSR1 or TSi1.  Both have adjustable hosels. edit:  Forgot to mention the GT1.
    • I've been really absent all things golf since September but have been getting the bug lately.  Today in SE Michigan we have our first thaw of the year.  It is Sunny and 53 degrees and boy do I want to get on a golf course!  Spring is around the corner 🙂
    • I assume you are posting 15 or 16 holes and letting the USGA algorithm insert projected scores for the missing holes. How is that going? Are the projected scores reasonable? I have yet to do this.
    • You're right. I haven't really had an issue with this before, but it's definitely worth closing the legs a bit to see what happens. I've had 2 of these and never had this problem before. About 5 years of use between the 2. It's really odd. Yeah, I've always had a bit of inconsistency and misreads, but this is a new level. I did a baseline session last night, and all my of stack speeds had decreased by roughly 5-10 mph (with me throwing out the obvious garbage readings). Weirdly, the driver speed actually seemed to be right where I expected it. I guess maybe it's having trouble with the smaller head of the stack vs. a driver? Whatever it is, I think it's time for me to go with the stack radar.
