So I currently have a TM R5 neutral 9.5 * with a NV 55 stiff shaft. From what I've researched and been told is that the NV shaft plays a little on the low side of stiffness and the kickpoint on the shaft is low-mid. My current ball flight is mid, which I like and get good distance from, unless I hit a bad shot, then it's low.

I am looking to replace the driver with a TM R7 Limited TP. My question is to keep my current ball flight, maybe add a little higher trajectory, which combo would you go with? A 9.5* with the Diamana 65 shaft, 9.5* Rombax 75, 10.5* Diamana 65, or Rombax 10.5*? Should I stick with stiff or look into x-stiff?

My SS is an average of 105 and I often hit the ball around 275-280 yards.

Any help would be appreciated.

I wouldn't rush to change anything if you're consistently averaging 280.

Probably just being greedy, but I'd like to get something with a bit newer technology to add some more yards.

I'm also building my dream set and am only a driver away...

Go with a stiff shaft, not xtra-stiff. Go with 10.5 because it will give you slighltly more control, and it sounds like you don't hit it that high in general, so you won't have a problem with the height of it.

As far as the actual shaft itself - I don't know too much about shafts. I'd suggest going to a Golf Smith or Golf Galaxy and just going on the Launch Monitor and see what you suggest.

If your swing speed is 105, I would say stiff should be good. Xtra-stiff is unnneeded IMO unless your swinging at like 110+.

Why? If he is fitted properly, he should gain a little bit of distance and accuracy with a new setup on a new driver.

I tried the stiff at Roger Dunn the other day and it really wasn't for me and I'm not planning on going that route. I was more thinking about the mid launch of the Rombax vs the high kickpoint of the Diamana.

I think the 10.5* with a Rombax is the way I'm going to go. I'll keep the R5 for a little just in case. CG - after all, you completely changed my ball trajectory with that simple advice. ; )
