Is it possible to adjust the loft of a driver?

For example, I recently bought the Nike 5900, regular flex, 9.5* used from Golfsmith as I had been having trouble finding the 5900 in 10.5* (because of their policy, I have 10 days to return it and get a 90% refund).

I stopped by a Golf Galaxy later that day and happened to find a new 5900 in 10.5*. I was looking for the 10.5* as I've read that a loft higher than 9.5* may be better suited for me as a beginner as it will produce more back spin and therefore less side spin, which should help with decreasing slice some (at least in theory).

I have not hit the 10.5* yet, as I can return it for a full refund within 30 days to GG ONLY if it is unused. I hit 10 balls with the 5900 9.5* today at the range (as well as hitting 10 with my current TM Tour Buner 9.5* for comparison). I was hitting both fairly close, though probably still slicing the TM a bit more when I did slice it. My best drive was the last one with the 5900 that went plenty straight and farther than any of the others I hit today.

Since this was only the first time with the 5900 9.5* I don't know whether the 9.5* will work well or not in the long run. I am going to try it again next weekend, and again compare it with my current TM.

In any event, if I decided to keep the 10.5* because of the theory that it will help some with a slice, etc. would it be possible to decrease the 10.5* to a 9.5* because I later decided that a 9.5* was in fact better suited to my game?

Thanks.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
