So recently I've developed this vicious snap hook, especially off the tee. most frustrating thing ever since my main problem has always been a big slice until i tweaked my grip a little a couple months ago.

naturally ive been to the range as much as time allows to try to work the hook out, but the problem is I cant hook the ball when Im on the range even when i try!!! but when i get out to the course there it is first hole QUACK QUACK.

it just makes it very hard to work on a swing problem that i know i have when it never shows up on the range!!!

someone please confirm what i already know and tell me im a headcase...

You're not the only one who swings better, sometimes much better, on the range than on the course. I know I have my moments, lol.

I wish I had the answer. I think it has to do with nerves and tension and stuff. There are times where for reason I get tense and it messes everything up I believe.

One of the best arguments for playing over going to the range is getting comfortable.

If my range play (and practice putting green play) translated 100% to course play I think I'd be scratch. I think a lot of people would, lol!

Whenever I hit a duck hook it's because I transfer my weight to the right on the backswing, and then on the downswing forget to transfer it back forward.

Wait, what? Do you mean you don't transfer your weight forward?

I'm confused on what you mean.

I was having the EXACT same problem as you. Hit the driver good on the range, get to the tee and hook the hell out of it. On the back 9 today I just told myself to take it easy, swing steady, swing within my limits, swing more controlled. And what do you know I was hitting the damn thing straight again. I must have been swinging really hard before because now it seems like my swing takes forever. but it's straight. Maybe you are just swinging too hard and you don't even know it.
