Just ordered it yesterday. Hoping it will be ready for play by this weekend.

My current shaft is the "by Titleist" Matrix XCON 6, tipped 1/2 inch. I actually like the shaft but my ball flight can be low at times which I don't really care for. I would rather get more carry and less roll. The for Titleist XCON 6 also only weighs 66g and sometimes feels like a feather in my hands when compared to my irons and fairway woods (all have Dynamic Gold steel shafts). So, with the AXIVCore, I'm going with a heavier shaft at 77g which I hope will help halt the feeling of being able to swing for the fences and getting too quick because the shaft if so light.

Also thinking about getting the length cut down to 44.5 or 44.25 just to help with consistency a little.

Anyone else have this shaft? I've read all the reviews and I think I'm going to like it. The nice part is if I don't like it, they'll pull it, put my old one back in and credit me the money back for the shaft.

Im interested in what you think of it. How much did the shaft run you?

I've hit it, while the ball flight was way too high for me the shaft felt really good. I'm still thinking of putting a AXIVcore Tour Red (or Green when it comes out) in my 3 wood. They are really good shafts for the money.

Also, my driver plays 44.5" and it's really helped with accuracy. Distance has actually stayed the same or even increased a little since I'm hitting the sweet spot more consistently.

I'll definitely post back once I hit it.

The shaft cost me around $125. They are charging $35 to install and pure the shaft so total of $160 isn't bad.

Yeah that's what I was afraid of but I don't think my ball flight will be too high. The guy that's putting the shaft in has seen my swing and he says that my ball flight should be fine. He didn't have the Tour Black in the same stiffness and weight that I wanted for me to try beforehand but he did have one in a regular flex and 66g. I took it out and tried it and it felt really good and surprisingly the ball flight wasn't too high with the regular flex; I was just hitting it all over the place. I've never heard of the AXIVCore Green. What kind of flight is it supposed to give?

I need a really low launching low spin shaft so the AXIV Tour Black is basically at the opposite end of the spectrum for me. So me hitting it too high doesn't mean anything. If your fitter saw you hit it and recommended it I'm sure you'll be fine.

The Tour Green is the lowest launching lowest spin out of all the offerings. A few guys on tour are using it now, I think it's supposed to come out this fall. It'll be their equivalent to the whiteboard or rombax z series.

this may sound dumb, but what does "pure the shaft" mean?

I see. With the Red already a low launching, low spin shaft. Can't imagine getting even lower. lol

I cut my shaft down from the standard 45.75" to 44.5" and it made a huge difference. When and if I get a new driver anytime soon, I'm going to make sure I do the same thing.

My friend had a Diamana shaft in his D3, 65g and he also said it felt like a feather, so different shaft but similar story.

Well I finally got my driver back today with the new AxivCore Tour Black and I'll be promptly removing the shaft and replacing it either with my previous shaft: Matrix XCON6 or possibly the AxivCore Tour Red.

I was hitting everything way to high with this shaft. It felt like a solid shaft just way too high of a ball flight.

I play it in my Burner and absolutely love it. I have a D2 with a Proforce V2 and that is a rocket launcher, you might like that combo since it's ultimately low spin and launch, should lower your ball flight considerably. Also from my experience a very stable shaft that you can swing for the fences with.

That sucks, do you at least get to recoup some of that money you spent from the installer?

Well I actually hit some more balls today and played in a scramble and hit some bombs with the shaft. It's still much higher than my XCon 6, but I can't decide if it's TOO high. I don't know if it just seems really high because I've gotten accustomed to hitting it low with the Matrix or if I actually am hitting it too high.

As for a recouping the money, the guy I get to work on all my clubs is very good with this stuff. He'll pull the Tour Black and put my old shaft (or something else in) and I'll get a credit for the total cost of the Tour Black. So, if I decide to just go back to my Matrix shaft, I'll get a credit for the cost of the Tour Black in the pro shop. I think both shafts (my old and new) will work OK I think, but I the thing is with my old Matrix shaft, when I put a bad swing on one, my error is a lower ball flight. When I put a bad swing on one with the Tour Black, the error is a much higher ball flight. So I have to decide what's better if I'm not swinging good, lower or higher. lol

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
