I'm right handed,my left hand is pretty useless for anything to be honest.
But I grip my golf clubs with my right hand above my left,I have tried to reverse it but I just find it impossible to swing the club with the "proper" grip..

Should I try and grip it right or just continue with what I'm comfortable with?
I am happy with my game, would changing my grip to left above right really improve me enough to make it worth going through the effort?

I actually even find it easier to use left handed clubs than change my hands around when I'm swinging with right handed clubs.
Has anyone else this problem? Or is it even a problem?

i know a guy who does everything righty except swing a golf club, which he does from the left side (except he putts righty. go figure.) never made sense to me for a second but hey, he beats me regularly im sorry to say.

i dont know about your grip and im by no means an expert, but it seems like you would be taking your wrists completely out of the swing with that grip?

There was a pro who has that same grip. As long as you feel you have control and accuracy go for it. Announcers were saying you could hurt yourself but I'm not quite sure how really.

There was a pro who has that same grip.

Golf Digest did a piece a little while back on a pro who played this way years ago. I can't remember his name, but I think he was from India and was a very accomplished player. I've tried swinging a club like this and couldn't hinge my wrists to save my life. Once I played 9 holes with a guy who gripped like this and he could barely hit the ball.

Funny how what is impossible for one person is perfectly natural for another. You might improve if you took the time to re-learn the swing with a conventional grip, but if you're happy with how you play now it might not be worth the frustration. Have you ever tried playing fully left handed?

I have only tried playing left handed at the driving range never on a golf course,I can hit it pretty well playing left handed but not as good as playing right handed.

I dunno how awkward my swing looks,no one has ever commented,I have seen players with the proper grip with god awful swings too though so maybe I should just stay with what I'm happy with! Though now that someone has just called me a weirdo and I should have been drowned at birth! Im thinking maybe there is something wrong with me...though he is English and us Irish don't usually take what they say seriously I think my grip of a Golf club as been inherited from another sport I play,I dunno if you Americans have ever heard of Hurling? Well I played hurling for several years and some of it involves striking a ball along the ground as well as from the hands and I grip the hurl (the stick) the same way I now grip a golf club.. Old habits die hard I suppose
