I just recently acquired a new club set G10 anyway the set did not come with a pitching wedge. It does have a gap wedge that I seem to play pretty well but seems to roll to much for me on the green . I found myself on the course yesterday in a position where a PW would of been helpful.

My Dilemma, these clubs are going nowhere and will stick with me forever (I love em) Do I call ping and get the matching PW or do I get a Vokey or something else to fill the hole. I just started golfing this year and am having a blast learning etc. I was pretty excited as I hit a 44 yesterday for the first time. hehehehehehe
Anyway, any advice would be great. I do have to mention I have this nasty ole rusty Vokey Sandwedge that I can do no wrong with. Hit it awesome. PArt of me thinks I should get a vokey PW

Your thoughts are welcome

I played the SW and Gap Wedge that matched my Callaway X-18 for years. Recently I swapped out the sand wedge and got a Vokey 56.14 spin milled. I can't explain it but it is so much better. I would not buy a matched wedge. I ordered the gap wedge yesterday I liked the sand wedge so much.

Be warned you need to understand what the loft of the matched set PW is before you replace it or you may add odd gaps in your set. Vokey has a 48 degree PW and a 50 degree gap wedge. You may need to have them bent which is no big deal and it is done by most shops.

The good news about wedges is that they are around $100 so no matter the (quality/name) brand you need to pick what you like.

Why aren't you looking at Ping's Tour W wedges? You can order them to match the specs on your other clubs and they are really good wedges. Which wedge to get depends on your distances, etc., and what the club is going to do for you. You may want to get the "P" in the G10, it's really more of what a 9 iron used to be, to avoid a big gap in your wedges, if you are primarily hitting that from 120 or more in the fairway (or whatever, it's just another more lofted iron), then maybe go 52/58 in the Tour W's, and just dump the gap wedge.

If your GW rolls to much you might want to try a Vokey because it will spin more. If you want to stick with Ping just go for Tour W. The best tip I can give you is to try all three out and also take them to the course to see how they react to the different situations you can't practice on the range
