Would the Hogan Apex Edge irons (2006 version) be considered game improvement irons? Pocket backs? Player's cavity backs? Something else entirely?

Check out the Maltby Playability Factor ratings for 2007.

Ralph gives the B-H Apex Forged (2005) an MPF = 560 , putting it in the Game Improvement category.

I couldn't find any rating for the Hogan Apex Edge irons (2006 version). You might e-mail Ralph on your own.

I would just call them cavity backs. But, it doesn't much matter what you call them so long as you can hit them and like them.

Bought a set of Apex Plus' and am smitten. They feel absolutely amazing... and were only $399 brand new.
What's in the bag:

G10 9 degree, TFC 129 shaft, stiff
Big Bertha 3 Wood
FTX 2i, Apex Plus 3i-E MP-R 52/07 and 56/13 Zing
