Hi guys! On saturday I played my first match play event which I lost 3&2, some factors like the handicap screwed me up but the most important I guess was the 115 - 120 yards. I can't hit that yardage with the 54° wedge and with the PW I choked down all the way almost grabbing it from the shaft and I still was long of the flag... and by long I mean 15 yards, I guess the adrenaline...

So I was planning to buy a 3 iron and a 5 wood but right now instead of that I'm considering getting a new wedge setup... going with 52°, 56° and 60°. My only worries are... with the 52° I will cover that gap (120 - 110 yards) and with the 56° (100 yards)?

So, what do you think? Those with this setup, which are your yardage gaps?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers!

i had the same problem with 130 yards.. imo it is definately better to bolster your wedge section rather than longer clubs...so i got a 52 that i can hit anywhere from 115 on a knock down to 130 on a full shot. my 56 is 100-110 on a full swing. you should just practice hitting your wedges 75% and even 50% and getting the feel of how hard to hit them to get them to go shorter than full swings. this way you will never be in between clubs..
