Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone knows when the next set of new Titleist drivers will be out because I need a new driver but I want to see if I should wait for a new product other than the 909.

Thanks

Hey guys,

why... they would be at full price... just buy this years model next year at half price.

IMHO... people who pay full retail or "NEW" prices for clubs are impatient jackasses. This doesn't necessarily include irons and wedges... just drivers and fairway woods which are usually severely discounted in a few months.
My Clubs: Callaway FT-i Tour LCG 9.5° w/ Matrix Ozik Xcon 6 stiff; Sonartec GS Tour 14° w/ Graphite Design Red Ice 70 stiff; Adams Idea Pro 2h(18°) & 3h(20°) w/ Aldila VS Proto 80 stiff; Adams Idea Pro Forged 4-PW w/ TT Black Gold stiff; Cleveland CG12 DSG RTG 52°-10° & 58°-10°; Odyssey...

Titleist don't discount their clubs that much. Don't rant if you don't know what you're on about.
What I Play:
Wilson Mini Stand Bag | PING G10, 10.5°, Proforce V2 HL S | PING G5, 15°, 18°, Aldila NV 75 S | PING G5, 19°, Aldila VS Proto By You 80 S
Mizuno MX200 4-PW S | Ping Tour W 50/12 X | Ping Tour W 58/TS X | A selection of putters, all 35.5 inches.

Bull

... the 907's are down from 400 to less than 200... and that's not even considering the slightly used, demo clubs, and otherwise that become available in time.

I would wait until just before the new stuff comes out. Typically our golf shops around here have a fire sale to clear out some space on the racks for the new items coming in. You'll know when the new stuff is starting to come in by press releases from the manufacturers and info posted to sites like this one.

Driver: Titleist GT3 Ventus Blue 6X
Hybrid: Ping G440
Irons: Ping Blueprint S X100
Wedges: Ping S159 (50/54/58)
Putter: LAB 2.1

And how old were the 907s when they were discounted? How old are the 909s now? They're still not discounted at most places.

And you know what? If a club is going to help you, there's something called an opportunity cost associated with NOT purchasing it right away. They miss out on 18 months of playing better golf. I agree that someone who has to have something just because it's the latest and greatest is probably making a mistake, but for those who investigate and see a real benefit to something new, waiting would be the mistake as far as their golf game is concerned. If 12-18 months of handicapping yourself is worth $150 or $200, by all means, save the money. To the OP: Titleist releases things on about an 18-month schedule, in the spring and fall. The last drivers came out in the fall of last year. So... you do the math. And know that wedges and irons are coming out this fall: http://thesandtrap.com/clubs/sneak_p..._ap2_cb_and_mb http://thesandtrap.com/clubs/more_of..._from_titleist Drivers? Prediction would be spring 2010. PGA Tour players will have 'em in their hands when the PGA Tour season kicks off again.
so...what should i do? wait til when?

Depends on what you want. If you want a 909, buy it now (TGW had a small discount, I think) or wait until February or so 2010. If you want the next driver, you'll be waiting until March. If you want a 907, well, if you can find one at retail it should be inexpensive.

And you know what? If a club

If I truly found something that helped me, I might cough up the extra dough.... but, most likely something is already available that will do the job just fine. I was simply making a point because the OP has no idea what the new drivers will be like and he already sounds pretty set on possibly purchasing them.

as to the OP's question... if you like the 909 I would pick one up (or wait till just before the next release and pick one up) rather than assume next years driver will be better in some way.

Yes, my logic and argument is based on the fact that something helps you. If you don't know or if it doesn't help you, then that's not in the realm of my point. :)

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
