1. FT-I makes a big noise (love it or hate it) The IQ does not
2. FT-IQ stock Fubuki is more whippy than stock FT-I Fujikura Speeder
3. FT-IQ has a lot longer body from front to back (face to back) - This makes set up a bit awkward if you like to rest the driver head on the ground. If you are a floater on setup, you should be fine.
4. FT-IQ face technology is a bit "hotter" off the face than FT-I
5. FT-IQ (non-tour) appears ridiculously more closed than FT-I (non-tour) - The FT-IQ tour still looks closed compared to the non-tour FT-I even though the IQ is supposed to be .5 degree open.
6. I found the FT-IQ amplifys a hook a lot more than the FT-I

My buddy plays an FT-9 and he tends to slice. Thus the nicknames of FT-Hook for the FT-IQ and FT-Slice for the FT-9.

I use to play an FT-I for about 6 months before switching to the IQ back in December. If i remember anything else, i'll try and post more...

I have the FT-i Tour LCG with the Matrix shaft... and I hit the FT-iQ tour in the store (w/ driving range)...

I agree for the most part with the above poster... I wouldn't call the tour version a hook machine, but it doesn't look open at address. Hitting it, balls went pretty naturally straight where with my FT-i I would still get my five yard fade. Overall the club feels less workable (and is) than the older version. I didn't like the iQ as much, but mostly because I don't like the head size. Also, the iQ had a higher ball flight for me, but not a ton. It just comes down to preference... and of course the FT-i can be had for under $150 on Callaway pre-owned right now.
My Clubs: Callaway FT-i Tour LCG 9.5° w/ Matrix Ozik Xcon 6 stiff; Sonartec GS Tour 14° w/ Graphite Design Red Ice 70 stiff; Adams Idea Pro 2h(18°) & 3h(20°) w/ Aldila VS Proto 80 stiff; Adams Idea Pro Forged 4-PW w/ TT Black Gold stiff; Cleveland CG12 DSG RTG 52°-10° & 58°-10°; Odyssey...

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
