I'm thinking about doing some paint fill and other tweaks to the appearance of my irons and wedges, especially the irons. I have the cast Nike CCi and would really like to remove some of the stickers from the cavity to make them look more like the forged CCi as I think they look cleaner. What would *really* be sweet is to remove both black stickers and then paint the raised swoosh, and have a clean chrome pocket.

I've tested a few things on a spare club and none have worked. Acetone/Goo Gone didn't even dent it, and going after them with a razor blade or sharp knife will just scratch the chrome up. Any ideas for lifting these decals off cleanly? Note that I'm not talking about the insert that says "CCi", just the two black stickers towards the topline.

I would advise against it. It is possible that you will effect the swing weight of the club by removing weight. It is also possible that the sticker hides something unsightly. You might void the warranty by removing it. Finally, the resale value will certaintly take a hit if you modify the clubs (if that is important to you)

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

Not really concerned about resale value, but do you really think that these stickers would impact swing weight in a significant way? I'm honestly asking, not being a jerk ;)

I have callaway clones (Grand Hawk XP24) and the sticker on the back of those is quite thick, and I would think that removing that would remove a few grams from the head of the club. The good news is that if you did it to all of them, you would be consistently removing the same amount from each club.

I honestly didn't consider that, so thanks for bringing it up. Maybe I'll stick to just doing a paint fill.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
