I currently play with an ageing set of Mizuno T Zoid Sure irons and I am looking to treat my self to some new irons. I have heard a good things about the Titleist AP1's and have had a good swing with them. I am just trying to see what peoples thoughts are on these. I play off 19, I hit the ball well off the fairway I am after a iron that is going to help me take my game to the next level.

I play the AP2's and love them. My dad looked at the AP1's and I have also looked at them before I got my AP2s. I think they are a solid iron for a mid to higher handicap player. I would considers you in between mid and high so these should be a good iron for you.

I had two back surgeries in 2000 and sold my Pings because I didn't think I would ever play again. I bought the AP1s last year and I'm now playing at a 12 handicap. They are very forgiving and have a buttery feel when you hit them in the sweet spot. They are good clubs.

I love my AP1s. I have Project X 6.0 shafts in them. Ball flight is high. I can generate good spin with them. I can hit a fade or a draw when I am playing well. I feel my mishits, and it feels good when I hit it right. I am also playing to a 19 right now. These clubs are certainly better than I am. I demo'd 5 sets AP1, G10, Burner, Cleveland, and X22, before purchasing these. I do wish that I demo'd something from Mizuno line. The only regret that I have is that I have since flattened my swing, and these clubs may be too upright for me now. Since they are cast, I don't imagine they will bend much, if at all.

They are good clubs. The right amount of forgiveness and good feedback on mishits. The only poor thing I can say about them is that they show wear very quickly. I've had them a year and they look 5 yrs old. Does not affect performance though.........

I tried Titleist irons this spring when I was switching clubs. AP1 and AP2 finished a close second behind Callaways, ahead of Ping I10.

I got a lucky deal on the Callaway X20s, and hit well with the stock Uniflex shafts. Either AP model would have cost extra to get the shafts I really needed.

AP1 is a really solid club.

I've had my AP1 irons for a little over a year. The only reason I'd take them out of my bag is if someone gave me a set of AP2's.

There's a lot of great clubs out there from many different companies, and certainly Titleist is on that list. Everything else is personal preference.

They really don't look any different then the previous version, other than subtle color changes

Performance is reported to be exactly the same, and the older version will go for about $200 cheaper this fall.
