I was playing at Green Hill GC ( a public course) and had just hit it maybe 3 feet from the hole on a par 3 and the little sh*ts that just played the hole ran up and grabbed my ball....so...i feel your pain. those things happen and although its shitty esp on a great shot dont let it ruin your day.

Forget your opponents; always play against par. ~Sam Snead

I'm looking for Ray Finkle.

I have three old Ultras in my shag bag with Wayne Goss handwritten on them. I found them on the same par 5 a few years ago. He's either a lefty or he was fighting a hook that day.

I accidentally hit my partners ball Thursday.
That will teach him to switch to a TP Red in the middle of the round and not tell me. He was playing a ProV1 earlier.
I hit his ball and was waiting on him to hit and he was just standing there looking at my ball with a funny look on his face. We were only about 5 yards apart on a par five so we laughed about it and he hit my ball.
I made sure to look for my mark the rest of the round.

I was playing at a local lighted par 3 course tonight(Governors Run in Carlyle, Illinois) and I think i was the only sober person out there at 9 pm. There was another group way over on another hole and one guy i swear was hitting his driver(sounded like a driver to me, longest hole there was 150 yards so anything more than a 6 or 7 iron is not needed, i took my driver, 3 wood and long irons out of the bag) At a couple of the holes over toward me, one of the balls came within about 75 yards or so from hitting me, I walked over and picked it up and kept and the other ball he hit over there. I was walking so maybe they didnt see me or didnt care. I waited for the group to come over and say something but they never did, i might have given it back to him but game him a nice warning about doing stupid stuff like that. That group hit balls all over the place, I found about 15-16 balls they had hit everywhere but where they were supposed to. I quietly to myself said thanks for the free balls idiots. They would never have been able to find them anyway because although its lighted, if you get too far away from the greens you cant see too well. One guy actually managed to hit one on one the greens I played next, again thanks idiot for the free ball and on a couple other greens that i would play later. I was the only person playing at the end so i picked up every ball i found and kept it. I lost 4 of my own balls but with all the ones i found i left with more than i came with. There were large groups playing on some of the holes, I think one had 8 people playing the same hole at once. These people had little respect for the game as they were loud and rude, even as far as they were away, it was still hard to concentrate at times. Luckily the free balls were a nice gift to keep me from turning them in for acting like children. I think they even thought it was a joke to hit balls all over the place, guess they'll have to buy more next time they go play.

    • that is an excellent approach. I did that with my last set. I made a few 7 irons from different heads and shafts. Getting a feel for how they play on the course is the right idea. Let us know how it goes.
    • I’m glad the USGA booted some of the hecklers. It’s getting out of hand. I wish the networks wouldn’t mic the crowd to give those idiots a platform.
    • New member here, and I have decided to upgrade my clubs. I have been playing for a long time but these last 10 years I have had to put four kids through college. So I've played a few rounds a year and some years have not played at all. I am currently playing Titleist 716 AP2's with Rifle 6.5 steel shafts and Winn grips. I used to hit my 7 iron around 165 yds until just 5 years ago. I turned 62 this year and noticed I can barely get my 7 iron to 145 yds. I went for a fitting to try out some new player distance irons. I don't think I need game improvement irons because I'm pretty straight and rarely try to work a ball (if I'm working a ball, then I most definetely did something wrong to get there). I tried a bunch of irons (Callaway, Mizuno, PXG, Taylormade, Srixon, Ping, and Titleist) and I kept coming back to the Ping and Titleist. They just felt right and really looked good when lining up a shot. The Ping, by far, went the longest of all the irons. The Titleist was a close second in distance. Both felt buttery smooth through impact. I was wondering if anyone else has any experience with these irons. I was getting 160 yds with a nice smooth swing (81 mph swing speed). I know I'm asking a lot of my clubs but my last fitting was 27 years ago and I ended up with some Cleveland TA3's or TA2's forged irons with Dynamic Gold S300 (swing speed 87 mph). I really love the feel of my AP2's and the place I'm going to purchase from is going to make a 7 iron in both Ping and Titleist for me to test on real grass. I'm pretty certain it's going to be either one. They're both identical in price for a set of 5-PW. I'm going to forego a 4 iron and get another 4 hybrid to go along with my 3 hybrid. Any and all replies are welcome.
    • Day 47, June 22.  After work today, I spent 20 minutes in my indoor practice room, hitting about as many balls.  Slow, as slow as I could, 6-iron swings, same priority piece as the past month.
    • Day 291 6-22 full, faster swings, focusing on low point, missing towel. Recorded some face on and dtl. Practicing full speed changes is something I wasn't doing enough.
