I just played a golf tournament last weekend and won the longest drive (people say it was 330 yds, but I don't know) and closest to pin holes.

The 2 prizes I received were:

Cleveland CG10 60 degree
Nike Sumo Hybrid 20 degree

I don't believe that I would need any of those 2 clubs (see my sig).

I'm thinking about going to exchange the clubs for something else that I would like to upgrade. I was thinking of trading the 2 in for a Titleist 909F2 or F3 to upgrade my 3 Wood. I can hit my current 3W off the deck about 240-250 yds about when I hit it clean about half the time.

Any other suggestions?

Also, is it possible to take off the speeder shaft from my old club and put it on the a new one?

Thanks.

new 50* ul drop more strokes from fresh grooves, especially if your still hitting the 200, than from a new 3 wood. i replace my whole wedge set 2 or 3 times a summer. iv baught 2 52's, 4 56's, 3 60's this summer because the grooves died or the shafts bent.
new wedge whenever possible

Thanks. I never thought of that.

i'm gonna hafta agree as well, a new wedge(s) greatly improve the shortgame just because of the fresh grooves. i too also struggle with my 3wood so i wouldn't be as concerned with that. remember you can pull a 3 or 4iron, maybe even a mid iron and leave yourself a full wedge shot into a par 5.

In my Diablo Edge Tour/ Titliest Stand Bag:

Wedges: 46* Vokey SM4, 54* Vokey SM4, 60* TMade ATV

I think I'll definitely do that. These days, I've been leaving my 50* and 3-iron in my trunk. I might go ahead and leave my 5W and 3-iron in my trunk now. My 90-130 yd game has been played primarily with my 46* PW. I don't like taking full swings anymore with my clubs...especially with my wedges unless I really have to. I can crank my 54* 100+ yds, but it's inconsistent, so I'll usually pull it out with less than 90yds in.

I shaved off at least 5 strokes by swinging less this summer. Plus, if I get the Vokey 50*, I'll still have some change left over. Maybe I could still pick up a Cleveland or a Cobra 3W since they're on sale these days and significantly cheaper than the titleist 909F2/F3 Thanks again.

Well, I went with a Titleist 909f2 3W with an Aldila Voodoo shaft. I took my clubs to a local Golf Galaxy, and my buddy who works there took a look at my 50* and said that the grooves were fine. He sharpened them, and we were good.

I was originally thinking about a 50* wedge and the Titleist 906, but since the grooves were fine and I was way more consistent with the 909 on the simulator, I just went with the 909f2. If I can consistently hit the 909f2 around 250yds, I might be playing it more often than my driver on many par 4s. It's easy to hit.

Thanks again.
