As a shorter person (5'3) I am often using cut down putters. After doing allot of looking for putters I've noticed that very few putters actually change head weight. Thus the swing weight for a 35" putter (D2 -recommended) can very greatly from a 33" putter (Now a C0 - way too light). See the link for a great chart on putter swing weight.

I like how the New Scotty Newports have adjustable weights, I just wish there were more inexpensive options.

I cut down a Mizuno Bettinardi putter, which I now find much too light.

just add some lead tape to the bottom. almost always the shorter the shaft the heavier the head and vise versa. I'm 5"9 and my putter is 32" inches and my coach said its perfect for me. the length depends on how comfortable you are. you dont want to have your arms to strait or too bent just relaxed

What I Play:
Titleist 910 D3 9.5* Diamana 'ahina X-stiff  | Titleist 909f2 13.5* x-stiff | Taylormade Rescue 19* steel shaft stiff |
Titleist ZB 3-PW S300 | Titleist BV SM 52-08 58-12  | 34" Scotty Cameron California Del Mar | Penta TP

I cut a Circa 62 down to 33". And put the same grip on both my Newport 2 33/350 and the Circa. I added enough lead tape to the bottom of the Circa to match it's weight to the Newport 2. They feel the same. Their swing weights are the same. They both are at C-7.

I'm 5'9" and I also have a Circa 62 #3 cut down to 33" with a lot of lead tape on the bottom. It's heavier than a 33" Newport with those 20g weights in it. Can you order the SC's with heavier weights? If so where?

I m almost 6' but i have long arms. I cut my 35" SC to 34" and the SW reduced to C6.

Although the ideal SW is D2 , but i am used to both C6 to D2 bcoz i found the grips that fits my hand the best .

It is the SC Baby T Grips ( OEM from Golf Pride )

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
