Biggest score gap w/replay?

OK, I had an interesting day yesterday. I played Hiddenbrooke in Vallejo, CA (a Palmer designed course) at 8:30. We finished and decided to go around again.

I had a terrible round (relative to my HI) the first 18, shooting a 112. OUCH! I had a beer and waited 1/2 hour for another tee time, then headed out and shot an 89. That's a 23 stroke swing! As a high handicapper (19.9), I should expect a much larger variance than a low handicapper, but that one surprised me. I think I really need to warm up before I head out. I've done 36 before and shaved off 10 strokes - same kind of deal.

Ever had a big gap, + or -, on a replay?

I rarely have time to play 36, but I have experienced this before many times on 18. Always having the better score on the back 9. My latest was a 50 followed up by a 39. Both sides play to roughly the same CR/Slope. I just seem to find my rhythm on the back.

i dont think its abnormal.... it happens to me......it happens to pros. one day they shoot a 74/75 the next a 64. sometimes you just have it sometimes not. so a ten point swing isnt too drastic even 20 isnt necessarily crazy

i shot 77 this morning and 90 this afternoon. it was a bad day i couldnt make the ball stick it would jsut keep spinning off the front of greens no matter how far back i landed it

I play worse the second time around, usually. And usually it's because I play a serious round first, then have a few drinks at the clubhouse before filling a cooler and going out and trying to smash everything straight at the flag.
