You don't see that every week.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

Those are some awesome shots. He's only the second person (after John Wooden) that I've heard of making both in a single round.

Edit: And, right after I submit this, Rickie Fowler makes an ace on #5 to take the lead. Too bad he only has one chance left today to repeat Thompson's feat.

This is great for Thompson. His average is 71.2. . . i am glad this has happened to him. Can anyone help he find a video of these two shots? I have looked around but cant find any. I don't mind if they are highlight reels either . . ..

It doesn't look like it's been posted to YouTube yet, but it will be within 48 hours, given the timeframe for highlight reels from the TOUR itself. You could subscribe to PGATour on YouTube to see it. Regardless of whether you subscribe or not, when I see it pop up on my subscriptions, I'll post it here.

----- Meaningless statistic of this tournament of the moment: if Rickie Fowler birdies 16 or 17 on his way in today, his best ball for the tournament will be 18 under.

Looks like I was wrong above. The video was posted, but somehow doesn't contain anything more than a mention of Thompson's double eagle. The ace is shown, however.
