Which one would you get?

Basically I'm looking to upgrade my irons and I'd like to get something used and a model or two ago to save on cost. I need something forgiving but I don't want anything too beefy either. I was thinking these two would be good choices.

Any thoughts? Any others similar I should look at?

Gracias!

PS Just getting back into it after a long break so my index isn't that low anymore...

I think the Titleist 775 CB are a good option if you want a forgiving club with a relatively thin topline so I would go with those. I'm pretty sure you could get a great deal on ebay as well.

I just got the 775s and I love them. I went from an mp 60s to them and they are a great iron. I like the oversized long irons. They really get the ball up and are long. Great performance on mishits but still let you know you didn't hit it perfect.

Highly recommend. Wish I would have gotten them first.

I like Mizuno as well, so I'm probably going to say Mizuno and be accused of being a fanboy by the forum's admins. But heck, Mizuno!!

I've been playing the MX-25s since July and absolutely love them. The entire set plays nice and easy.

775.CB fan here-very progressive set, 3, 4, and 5 are a little larger than the rest, but 6-PW have relatively thin topline and are increasingly blade-like as you move toward the wedge. I have 3 sets of irons and all my lowest scores have been with the 775s, and they're very affordable.

Thanks for all the great comments. Lots of really good clubs out there and some good deals too. Looked at the MX-25, MX-200, Titleist 775 and even the 755. All good sticks. I think I might go with the Titleist AP1 though. I just read through the field tests and reviews (great info guys!), anyone play the AP1 that can compare to the other Titleists listed above and Mizunos? More forgiving?

I can speak a little bit about the AP1s. I've had mine since June and I love them. They are, in my opinion, more forgiving then the 775, 755 and, I would imagine, the Mizunos.

But if you're looking for feel, compared to the Mizunos and other forged Titleist clubs, they don't compare. Even when hit perfectly, they still feel like a cast club. The thick topline, large head size and offset also make the AP1s difficult to work. The AP2s would be a more fair comparison to other said clubs, I would think.

AP1s are nice clubs, but aren't forged like the 775s (may not matter to you), and are a little bit more "game improvement". I think the lofts are the same as on the 775s.

I'll chime in. I've never played the 775s, but I recently put my ego in check and switched from MP-60s to MX-25s. I couldn't be happier. Very soft feel, great ball flight, actually quite easy to work as far as I'm concerned. There's a reason Mizuno has such a great reputation - it is well deserved.
