Hey guys, I was just looking at pics of the new cleveland clubs and was wondering what you all thought about the "mini-grooves" that are laser etched in the face, instead of the spin-milled faces of the vokeys and others. they look like they will provide superior spin and If any of you have hit them already, what do you think about them?

it will be pretty annoying to see the text on the sides of the grooves. I wouldn't concentrate on the ball but on the text. i don't expect the wedges to give more spin than the 2009 vokeys

I doubt they'd give more spin than a vokey.

Even if they did it'd be minuscule

I'm not sure what you mean by that question..... but I am considering these wedges because of the nice, big channels and new lines etched into the face of the wedges.... i'm not sure if you're implying that these are the new "tour conforming grooves" or not, but they're not.

I dont see the text bothering me, wouldnt take long to get over if the club works like it should, its just a little text...

I have both the SM titleist and the mack daddy Callaway.

In my option the MD grooves spin much more than the titleist. I have a normal vokey and really see very little difference.

I think theylook great, and with what I've heard about Cleveland Golf, they may one day push Taylormade out of the bag. Maybe not this year, but mynext set after this. The wedges are awesome looking. I bought some Nickent Arc wedges just recently but got them cheap so I wouldn't have any hesitation in replacing them.

They look nice, you will be shredding and murdering a lot of balls though.

I'm very close to buying some new Cleveland irons; I also carry a Cleveland Hibore driver and 5 wood, along with a 60 degree CG14 wedge. I'm not sure how I turned into a Cleveland guy, but I did :P
