Anyone have any suggestions for a great driver shaft. If your numbers are similar to mine - I'd especially like to hear from you. My driver swing speed average is 110 mph. I have always used a stiff shaft. Various brands - always stock shafts. ProLaunch Blue with a G5. Aldila NV 65 with a G5. Matrix O X with my FT-i tour.

I like the shaft in the driver I have now, but I'm wondering If there are advantages to aftermarket shafts that I could benefit from.

TIA

Really depends on the feel you like, your tempo, your typical shot, your favored shot, etc.

You may want to try an x-stiff shaft. 105-115 MPH (legit) is a grey area for stiff/x-stiff and it depends a lot on the things I listed just above. I like the UST ProForce shafts, but I'm a simple fella, so... what's good for me may be crap for you.

like iacas said the proforce shafts are good you should also look at the graffaloy blue if you can but id also suggest the matrix you have now but in an x-stiff if you like the characteristics of that shaft.

I swing between 108 and 113, depending upon the shot I am attempting. Best shaft I've ever owned is my current Diamana white board 73g stiff, cut to 44.5" in a Titleist 909D3 9.5

I swing between 105 and 110mph. My current shaft is a diamana blueboard and it is great.
It has a tight dispersion and gave me a few yards because it decreased my spin rate.

I'm looking into the White Board. Or the Fubuki series.

I agree is Iacas. The proforce shafts are hard to beat. And if you consider the cost they are even better.

Well what do you want your ball lfight and spin characteristics to be? also what head will you be putting your shaft in?

The white board is a super stable feeling shaft. I would best describe it as "boardy" (if there is such a thing) It doesnt have the smooth feel of the Blueboard, or the lively feel of the redboard, but god they are deep and workable shafts. The fubuki thru my limited expereince with it seems to be a bit like a blueboard, but with a little bit more spin, so a mid launching shaft that will get your ball up in the air. If you like your current matrix, check out the F6M2, its a white board equivalent, or the Altus, which would best be matched to the fubuki. The F6M2 is a super feeling shaft, feels kinda like the whiteboard. The altus feels pretty lively, i had a problem with it turning over and wanting to go left, but that may vary with your swing. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me! Brian

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
