it seems that only those who do not know what makes a good 'golf swing' would suspect steroids in golf. I may be wrong (and please, do tell me if I am) but golf isnt primarily about strength. Strength helps, yes, but flexibility, balance and coordination are more important. Do steroids help in these areas? I really dont know... but I would think not.

I just don't think the performance enhancing drugs like steroids would be that useful to a golfer. Granted, you might want to try it if you were on the Long drive tour, but it requires too much finesse around and on the greens to use steroids.

John Daly (6th) and Bubba Watson (1st) are two of the longest hitters on tour and neither one of them is buff. They are followed by Charles Howell (50th) who is so thin he has to pump up to make a shadow. Technique will win out over brute strength every time. I am not sure that the huge muscles you get with steroids wouldn't actually be a hinderance instead of a help????

Either way, the bad side effects in personality change and loss of muscle control would certainly hurt a golfer's overall game.
