Ive noticed that when I was gaming the MP 57's, my 6 iron through PW would leave a nice chunk in the fairway,

When I switched to the G10's I am either taking a tiny baby divot or nothing at all...

Is this normal or has my swing flattened unknowingly??

Thanks!

Jim

yeah i have somewhat midsized to bigger soles and mine divots are more of shaving off the grass down to the dirt/maybe a little chunk of grass. nothing like those long strips of fairway you have to go grab and put back in.

I've noticed this too. But of course a blade-like iron is going to dig and slice through grass and dirt much easier than a thick soled iron.

If you compare the specs on the two club models, you'll find different bounce in the head designs. With higher bounce, the G10 is less likely to "dig in" on the shot.

Bounce Comparisons MP57: 3i = 1º ... 6i = 2º...PW = 6º G10: 3i = -2º ... 6i = 6º...PW = 10º Your swing didn't change - the club-turf interaction (or whatever the marketing guys call it) did. (For more on negative bounce on the 3i, see RalphMaltby.com)

Thanks guys, and thanks tiger for clearing that up! Makes sense now, although I do miss taking some nice fat chunks on my shots and watching the ball stick to the green.
