Well- My wife got me new irons for Xmas. She just gave me a picture of TM R7 tps and said go get what you want. Sweet!

Anyway- I'm pretty sure I'm going with the new AP2s as I have hit a bunch and those seem the nicest. The big problem I'm having is the shaft choice. I have hit the DGs300s and the PX 5.5 and 6. And I can't seem to tell the difference in ball flight etc... The PX seems to produce a bit less spin on the launch monitor. My swing speed with a 6 iron seems to average right around 80mph but I'm hoping to increase this a bit as I'm working with my coach on a few things and my speed is increasing.

I know this topic has been discussed at length and yes I have searched all the DG vs PX forums. Just looking to see if anyone has any new opinions on these shafts with the new AP2s that might sway me one way or the other. My instructor says the quality control on the PX is much better than the DG shafts?

opinions?

Thanks!

I'm using the stock T Step 90 gram shaft in the R7s. I believe they are a fairly high launch but I have not found much info on them.

    • We had a member of our senior club who developed a mental block on pulling the trigger. I played with him to see what the membership was talking about. I timed him a few times when he would get over the ball. 45 seconds. He knew he had a mental block and would chide himself, “Just hit it!” Once on the green he was okay and chipping was a bit better. It was painful to watch him struggle. Our “bandaid” was to put him in the last tournament  tee time with two understanding players. We should have suggested to him to take a break from our tournaments. I agree with the idea that when a player realizes they have a problem, the answer is to go fix it and not return until they are able to play at an acceptable pace.
