In case y'all haven't noticed, every Established Member has a blog now. The "entire" blog is at http://thesandtrap.com/forum/blog.php and it shows everyone's post.

You can create a new post on your blog by clicking the "blog this" button at the bottom of every post on the forum OR by visiting the blog's URL and clicking the "Create New Post" button ( http://thesandtrap.com/forum/blog.php ).

You can use your blog for just about whatever you'd like, but you may want to keep it golf-related and the best thing I can think of to do is to use your blog to keep track of tips and tricks you find handy, useful, etc. When you come across one in the forum, click the "Blog this Post" button, add a few notes of your own, and post it. There you go - a journal of tips and tricks you like.

Another thing you might like to do is to keep track of your goals or jot down notes from your lessons.

Blogs aren't quite as well integrated as the forum, so stick to the forum for most things. Comments on blogs and blog posts themselves don't count as posts, for example, and most people will search in the forum and not on the blogs, so if you have original content that isn't mostly "for you alone" then you'll probably want to continue posting that in the forum.

BTW, I changed some settings regarding comment moderation. Everyone who has a blog (every Established Member, moderator, and admin) has the power to moderate their own comments. Please pay attention to these and moderate as necessary, folks.

If you have any trouble please let me know. I'm still trying to figure out how to handle these smoothly.

BTW, anyone with a blog, please go here:
http://thesandtrap.com/forum/blog_usercp.php

Uncheck the box that says "Moderate comments before displaying." I'm not sure if it's a bug or what because in the main settings I this set to "No": "When enabled, all new comments are placed into moderation. This can also be enabled in usergroup permissions."

And yet I've had to moderate (approve) every comment on every blog post so far. So maybe it's a bug... But anyway, go to the URL and turn off comment moderation. You can still enable it for each post. And if you do enable it, please moderate your own comments. You're allowed and welcome to - and if I stop, you're almost required to.

Is there a way to edit a blog? Made my first entry and discovered a couple of typos.

Click the pencil icon next to the title. It shows up when you hover near the title.

OK thanks. I know I haven't hit the 30 days yet. I also went to my control panel but don't see a link to check my rep. Am I just blind? Where exactly is it?

Thanks.

If you don't see any you have 10 (which I can confirm that you do too).

http://thesandtrap.com/forum/usercp.php That's where any reputation comments you get will show up.

Great, thanks. I had decided that I couldn't see it either because A) I am not established yet, or B) I had the required rep.

    • Greg Norman reveals plan for LIV Golf teams to have their own courses LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman wants teams to follow Premier League clubs in having their own home games. Here you go. Enjoy.
    • Day 2:  I hit a bucket of balls this morning.  Not gonna lie, almost didn’t go since it was my first time going alone and it was a little intimidating.  I mostly hit with my driver (the last bit of balls was with my 7 iron).  The sun was in my face but I think the ones that had good contact with went the furthest yet (maybe 150 yards then a good roll?).  Once I switched to my 7, the first half of my balls were crap.  I’ve always hit my irons before my driver when practicing and done fine - does this make any difference or is it just because I’m so green?
    • It's likely per "category" of clubs, so irons would be one category, wedges would be a category, driver a category, fairway woods/hybrid a category, etc. They aren't going to charge you $50 per iron for a fitting. Almost all iron fittings are done with like a 6 or 7 iron, fitters don't carry full sets of every iron. So yes, if you use a 7 iron for the fitting and let's say you get fit into the P790 with a certain shaft, 1 degree flat and .5" longer than normal you would just order the full set of P790s with that shaft/lie angle/length combination and you'll be perfectly fine.
    • I think the $50 fitting price tag is per club. The clubs I am most interested in getting fitted for are irons. And I'd rather not spend a bunch on getting fitted for multiple irons. Would I be fairly safe to assume that choosing something like a 6 or 7 iron for fitting would likely relate to other lofts in the same configuration/make/model?
    • A Mevo is 500. Comes with little decals to hit balls inside too.
